carquals off jax on march 3, after a weekend at pier 12, cva-67 again headed for sea this time for carrier qualifications in the jacksonville operating area. day and night, squadron pilots were launched and recovered to chalk up the required number of landings to keep them up to snuff. the crew and air wing were beginning to perform like a well oiled machine-a team. in just a month kennedy, her crew and her squadrons would head east for nine months in the mediterranean. and the two weeks at sea with only a month left before deployment seemed like two years.
