been able to work with you all and because of all
the line friends I have made here. Though many
of you are going to different high schools and
colleges I know I shall never forget the friends
I have made and the good they have done me.
I now want to express my sincere gratitude to
BOARD OF CONTROL
Many of the students of john Burroughs do not realize
the importance, or the power of the Board of Control in
our school life. The Board of Control has more power
in our school than any other class, grade or organization.
No student body money can be spent without the consent
of the Board. Each class has two Representatives, a boy
and a girl whose job it is to bring news, to their grade of
the happenings of the Board. All major organizations
in the school have representatives. included in that
number are the Boys' Council, Girls' League, Senior
Safety Board, Civics and Hospitality Clubs on the Board.
Under the able leadership of our sponsors Miss Howell,
Mrs. Beaumont, and Mr. Welola, this VV inter '37 Board
of Control has tried to serve you as faithfully as possible
and we hope you will all give as good cooperation and as
much help to the following Boards as you have given this
It is with sorrow and happiness that I close this fare-
well inessage. Sorrow because I am leaving such a ine
school, and such a cooperative student body. Gladness
because I have been able to attend such a line school and
an excellent faculty for having made my three
years at John Burroughs as pleasant as possible.
To a fine school and a great student body, I say,
