WE'RE UMBER y O UMERO HCDN 'l! After every game the final cheer was We're number one, and that's exactly how the varsity football team came out in the Foothill League. The captains of the victorious team were offensive tackle RON WOLLARD and defensive guard STEVE GRISWOLD. To be a number one team, there needs to be a good set of coaches behind the players. Burroughs has a set of excellent coaches. The coaching staff included BOB DUNIVANT head, CRAIG BELL, STEVE ARMSTRONG, MARTY GARRISON, and MIKE CURTIN assistants. What happens when a helmet breaks, or a last minute errand needs to be run before a game? Who does all these things? The managers of course. This year's man- agers were MONTY VALENTA, IERRY WELDEN, and IOE OLZEWSKI. Touchdown, touchdown we want a touchdown. That's what we got when PAT HICKMAN got the ball. l 7,771 , ,W , ,, ,, , ,J

It was 47 years ago, 1927 that this happened. Speed and determination were two things the Indians had in their favor when PAT HICKMAN got the ball. What would a quarterback do without a center? Who would the center hike to if there wasn't a quarterback? Burroughs didn't have to worry about either of those two questions because we had TOM MILLER at quarterback and GARY WITT at center. Run Angobaldo run! Adding more yardage to his yards rushing record during the Canyon game was CESAR ANGOBALDO. Ear to ear smiles were seen on the faces of the varsity football team after defeating Glendale. Throwing downfield was TOM MILLER quar- terback. Let's get them!
