Doing the hard work and organization of C.S.F. Presi- dent was Virginia Crockett. the 1971-1972 president. There are many students at Burroughs that get recognized with honors each year. Some are given a symbol of the honor and some are just given thanks. The Dixieland Band works many hours. These people worked hours on their own. They played for people at convalesant homes on their time, they thought of others instead of themselves. There was also Dominique Brabec our Foreign Exchange student. Coming from France, Dominique had alot of adjusting to do. Cecilia Sanchez the 1971 Girls State Representative represented Burroughs and California with ease and grace. The C.S.F. President, Virginia Crockett, worked hard at doing the Presidents' duties. Getting the honor of Backwards Dance King was Jon Funk. Getting the honor ofthe highest academic student is really something, and Craig Wood fit the honor per- fectly. High academic ability receives 1972 CALIFORNIA SCHOLARSHIP SOCIETY C.S.F. members received honors for their high academic work, They were able to participate in the free periodu program which meant they were released from classroom supervision.
