Indians out muscle Burbank in I5-I2 victory Making a bone crushing tackle is JAY GUDZIN and DAN ' SA NTOYO. ' .,fwM. . , ,Nm B Running through a Cresenta man is JESS TA LA MONTES. The 1970 John Burroughs Football team was exceptional this season. After a distressing '69 season, John Burroughs Indians came back to not only prove that they could play football, but also that they could beat Burbank in the most exciting game ofthe year. The first two games proved disastrous and the school spirit went down sharply. The Indians came back and earned two straight wins, morale couldn't have been better. Our standing in the Foothill League was four wins and three loses, which placed us third in the League. Burbank was tied with us also with four wins and three loses. The Burbank-Burroughs game was another story altogether. The Indians, led by TIM MOLINA, brought their tomohawks down on the Bulldogs to win 15-12. This is the first time in three years that Burroughs has been victorious over Burbank. The game was a hard one for both teams. In the last few seconds of the game the tension was almost unbearable, but when the gun fired the final shot both teams knew who had won. A mob of people ran to the middle of the field trying to congratulate every member of both teams, for a terrific game. Iron man BOB LOYA catches a hit pass in the Cresenta ame. it vi..-w
