Burroughs went on to win 21-12. -+-'r My ,' Winning the Foothill League Champion- ship was a first in the nineteen-year history of the john Burroughs' Varsity football team. The biggest win of the season against Blair, who was undefeated in the past twelve league games, was edged in the last 45 seconds of play, making the score 7-6 for the Indians. In beating Pasadena 21-12 Burroughs clenched the title by being two wins ahead and only one game to go. The most anticipated game of the season for both Burbank High Schools proved a disappointment for the Indians. Burbank, playing their best game of the season, held on to the 20-0 halftime lead to beat Burroughs 20-19. The Indians boasted many fine players on their championship team. A few of the many great players were all-leaguers Dan McGin- ley, Dave Hormuth, Randy Shultz, Mike Erickson, CraigCanfield, Tony Delvlaio, Rudy Maurer, and Hank Reisner. An outstanding player taking top honors was fullback Dave Hormuth who gained over 800 yards during the season to break every school record for sea- sonal and career rushing. Dave was voted as Burbank's City Player-of-the-Year. Since the initiation of this honor three years ago a Burroughs player has always been the recip- ient. The '67 football season has been a reward- ing one for the coaches, players, and Indian fans.
