,,,,,n-W H HMM No, this isn't a tire drill! It's iust some of our Burroughs Seniors marching triumphantly out ol the assembly, as the lowly iuniors and sophomores enviously await their year of glory. The Winter Senior Council started the organization of all activities concerned with graduation. The biggest issue they had to lace dur- ing their term of olfice was what to do about the Senior Area. They settled the issue very successfully. The area will be a pleasant place for Senior get-togethers. Lett to right: Leslie Weiner, Ioan Free- man. QUTSTANDING SENIORS The clicking of typewriters is a familiar sound to Barbara Heffleger and Cyn- thia Aubley, outstanding seniors in the field of business education. In this field. promptness. efficiency, and a sense of responsibility are mandatory. These girls have been very successful in ful- filling these requirements. T Efficient and neat would certainly de- scribe Merrilee West and Sandra Ma- lan. our two outstanding seniors in the field of home economics. Because of their interest in new ideas and their flair for fashion, homemaking will al- ways be a pleasure for them and not lust a duty. X C1 . staff? They both are now attend- ing weekend classes on scholarships at two of the most famous art schools in this area. Sandra is at Chouinard and Carol is at Art Cen- ter. Carol's good nature was often taxed with requests for posters, ban- ners, and program covers for school events. She unselfishly turned these out at an amazing rate. Larry Clark and Art Berchin special- ize in different fields. Larry is an expert mechanic and knows iust about everything there is to know about automobiles. He not only can repair cars. but is able to design parts for them. Art specializes in photography and many examples of his fine work can be seen through- out this book. issmmxewwfias,was2:22.-ms:s2Hi'asx1z:vaw

X436 The spiritual number was one of the most exciting and intricate numbers in the show. The female leads in this year's show were captured by Carolyn Fitzpatrick and Leslie Weiner. Carolyn portrayed the torrid villainess, Nelly Bly, while Leslie depicted the thwarted wife, Frankie. Both girls gave excellent performances. ., 51. 6 fl '...!QjQ,,iz:l, f i DANCE DR MA This year's successful dance perform- ance was an adaptation of the Ballad of Frankie and Iohnny. This familiar story was told in terms of modern dance, ballet, pantomime, and music. This combination, along with the stylized settings and attrac- tive key colors, gave the performance a new vigor and originality. The cast was made up of the members of modern dance class, who were assisted by seven talented boys. This was the first performance in which boys took part. The leads in the story went to Leslie Weiner CFrankieJ, lerry Libman Clohnnyl, and Caro- lyn Fitzpatrick tNellieD. The choreography was done by Miss Bea Wojtyla and Leslie Weiner, while Mr. Bill Carpenter supervised the direction of the entire show. The original music for the production was composed by Mr. Bob Rose and his Dance Band members. The success of this type of production means that Burroughs can look forward to more shows of this calibre.
