The school is organized ona eq 3 basis of three distinct divisfons calculated to train boys and girls in Q K5 the three forms of development. As such, it has been found necess- Q2 gf ary to employ three distinct faculties, namely an ,academic faculty, a K? Bible faculty and I3 vocational faculty. While the work conducted by the first two mentioned faculties is more or less self-explained by Z? the respective titles, that carried on by the vocational staff is not so clearly understood and lends its contribution to the general P n . n M impression that the John Brown College is a unique school. Ei The work of the vocational school of John Brown College is gg divided roughly into five major divisions, namely, agricultural, home 3 economics, trades and industries, commerce and printing and journal- Qr ism. Each of these major divisions is in charge of one or more depart- Q35' ment heads according to the number of departments in the division, ig ranging from two to five. A ge The work of the vocational school is especially designed for a 'G C-gp certain type of students. Of course the work is open to all students S who may be admited to the college but the courses are outlined to ,Q accommodate especially those students who realize that they can never 'xi 6,33 attend school after leaving John Brown College. Because of this type ,Q gp of student the courses are intended to furnish fairly complete training Q3 Q' and to roduce trained workmen in the various lines of work ursued .Q P ga- here p .G Q ' .gg When, generally speaking, the head is trained in the academic Q school and the hieart is trained in the Bible school then it may be 5? left to the vocational school to give those manipulative skills upon Q which we must depend if we are to be workmen who needeth not to be ashamed.
