GLENN FALLS KATHERINE STERRY DONZETTA SWEENEY BETTY HARRIS JEAN STERRY MARY STENBERG Qiah' Speak Fifteen girls answered Coach Guy Bates call for basketball players and fifteen were happy to receive the prized uniforms when the season opened last fall. Then after a season filled with galore, we find that our lassies are the winners of sixteen league contests and losers of three. In the semifinals of the tournament we drew the topfseeded team of the district and in an overtime playoff, we lost 2826. Violet Adcock led as high scorer with 219 points. jerry Reeder came second with 214 points. The rest scored as follows: Pat Carney 38, Glen Pritchett 30, Marion Adcock 29, Nancy Stanfield 9 points. Boyd' 57104151 Last fall a few experienced players and several freshmen were on hand to try out for the ball team. After a few weeks of practice, the boys on hand had received the red, white, and blue uniforms were happy indeed and ready to give any team a fight. Wheia the boys came on the floor, they did it with a bang, and during the first half they weakened, except in the case of Bellevue and Goodlettsville. The addition of Kenneth Rottero to the ranks not only gave the team more potential force, but gave the morale a boost also. He earned a berth on the allfcity team the week that we won those two games. When tournament time came around, we drew second seeded Antioch, and bowed to the powerful Bears 2846.
