Superintendent of Toledo Public Schools Mr. E. L. Bowsher enioys recognition throughout the city for his sense of humor and his wit and candor. His teachers receive direction and inspiration from his monthly Monday afternoon broadcast from W.T.D.S., the school radio station, and students remember and appreciate him for his defense of night football in the fall. It is to Mr. Bowsher's vigorous leadership that the Toledo Public School system owes the success of the 3.6 mill school levy in the November election. He combined the efforts of interested Toledo organiza- tions and the Toledo Parent-Teachers' Association to channel the vote to favor this levy, which assured an increased operating income to meet the growing needs of Toledo schools. Achieves Action . . . and a V for victory! Superintendent Bowsher as the student sees him. At Open House, puzzled parents of puzzled physics pupils listen to instructor Roy Welday's explanation of his grading system.

Staunch supporters of the membership drive are P.T.A. officers, Mrs. Joseph Doneghy, secretary, Mrs. Malcolm Baxter, first vice-president, Mrs. Irving Odesky, president, Mr. Ralph Merickel, second vice-president, and Mrs. H. W. Boesel, treasurer. o P.T.A. member Mrs. Norman Levine accepts a membership from U n I Mary Sue Shipley, and the score goes up another notch. The Scott Parent-Teachers' Association brought parents and teachers, home and school, together for the benefit of a single interest - Scotters. Open House, sponsored by the P.T.A. on October 16, afforded Scott parents a chance to follow the daily schedules of their boys and girls and to meet their classroom teachers. Scott Skits and the Spring Music Festival were actively P.T.A.-supported, and the Newsletter, pub- lished monthly by the P.T.A., kept parents informed of Scott events.
