Enthusiastic crowd watches as Berkeley Bulldog toasts
Color day had arrived. That was evident from
the moment we came to school that Friday morn-
ing, January 22. Students,resp1endent in all shades
of red and girls wearing beautiful chrysanthemums,
which were sold by the Pep Club, added to the school
spirit.
Seniors sponsored Friday night's activities. A
large crowd gathered to see the huge bonfire at
which the Berkeley Bulldog burned in effigy. Fol-
lowing the bonfire, Jennings fans cheered our team
on to Victory. A sock-hop, at which Jennings played
host to Berkeley, concluded the evening.
To wind up Pep Weekend, the Juniors planned
and carried out the annual Basketball Dance. Maids
and escorts were selected from each class by fellow
classmates. The only requirement for nomination
was that the escorts and king be members of the
basketball teams. Seniors chose the King and
Queen from members of their class.
Music provided by the High Notes added much
to the evening's enjoyment. The climax of the
evening came with the Coronation of the Royal
Court.
