A JOB WELL DONE The task of cleaning and repairing Jenkins High School last year was admirably performed by our maintenance staff. The two janitors and seven maids did more than their share to make our building and grounds presentable. In addition to maintaining the heaters, lights, and other necessary machines in running order, the janitorial staff kept the landscape around HVJ beautiful. The staff of maids swept the floors and did other tidying jobs that kept our rooms and hall- ways spotless. The entire staff worked well together and succeeded in doing their long and tedious jobs. The cafeteria at HVJ served about five hundred and ten hot lunches every day. Ms. Kaigler, the director, and her eight co-workers offered four complete menus to students. There was also a diet lunch for those students attempting to trim down. Ms. Kaigler and her staff began at 7:00 in the morning to prepare for the mid-day rush. They worked until the cooking and cleaning up had been completed. Ms. Kaigler said that the work was not difficult but the process was long and tedious. During the year the cafeteria served everything from peas to pizza at a moderate price. Extra milk was available for those with a hearty appetite. Ms. Kaigler and her crew were much appreciated when it came to stopping the Warriors’ hunger pains. CALORIE COUNTER? UPPER: The line to happiness!
