SEARCH AND RESEARCH With a collection of over nineteen thousand books, our library helped many students find answers to their puzzling questions. Students also used filmstrips, records, transparencies, and other audio-visual materials to aid them in their learning process. Orientation for all students new to HVJ was successful again this year. Students learned how to use the library and its vast range of materials. The library was kept busy this year at lunchtime, before, and after school. Students used this extra time to finish their reports and projects. Library rooms were used by Special Education classes. SLD and BD. Mrs. Adkins - head librarian, Mrs. Mallory — assistant, Mrs. Christiansen and Mrs. Barry library clerks, were always there willing to assist students. WORKING TOGETHER The primary objective of the PTSA was to unite the efforts of parents, teachers and students in obtaining the highest social and educational advantages for the youth of Jenkins. The PTSA held open house every quarter so that parents might meet the teachers in their classrooms. At the invitation of this fine organization, the HVJ Band presented a Christmas Concert. By working together for common objectives, the parents, teachers and students of the PTSA found new ways to serve the needs of the school.
