LT Cdr. Seiler enlisted in the Navy in December I945 at Omaha, Nebraska, and underwent basic training at NTC San Diego. Upon completion of his training, he was assigned to a unit of Service Force, Pacific. In March of I956, he was selected for the Officer Integration Program and was subsequently commissioned an Ensign in August l956. As an Ensign, LT Cdr. Seiler served aboard the USS Hancock CCVA-ISU, pre-commissioning detail of the USS Midway QCVA-lilly USS .lohn W. Thompson CDD-7605, as officer-in-charge, USS Wisman QDD-667D , simultaneously serving as Commanding Officer, USS Whippoorwill QMSC-207D and Mine Division Thirty-Two. A tour of shore duty took him to the Fleet Anti-Air Warfare Training Center, San Diego. LT Cdr. Seiler ioined the Jenkins in .Iune I966, and he and his family reside in Radford Terrace.
