COMMANDING OFFICER Originally from Bangor, Maine, Cdr. Orbeton attended the University of Maine and the United States Naval Acade- my, becoming a commissioned officer in June I944. He is also a graduate of U.S. Naval Intelligence School, Anacosta, Maryland. Cdr. Orbeton saw his first sea duty aboard the USS Winslow CDD-3595, and has subsequently served in the USS Power CDD-8391, USS Litttle Rock CCL-925, USS Hobson CDMS-26D, USS Macon CCA-925, as Commanding Officer, USS Impervious, CMSO-4490, and as Executive Ofhcer of the USS Rooks CDD-8091 and the USS Calvert CAPA-321 Tours of shore duty have included the Bureau of Naval Personnel, the Office of the Chief of Naval Operations, as an Assistant Naval Attache in Rome, and as Head, Education and Intelligence Departments of the US Naval Amphibious School, Coronado.
