I r I The Jemison High School Panthers broke into the win column last Fri- day night when they motored down to Billingsley High and upset the locals 12 to 0. The 1st quarter ended with neither team scoring, however, JHS fumbled away two grand opportunities. The 2nd quarter too, was rocking along scoreless, but with less than one min- ute left to play, Don Price made a beautiful interception of a pass on the Jemison 40-yard stripe and loped 60 yards for pay dirt. The Billings- ley line tightened and the affort for the extra point bogged down. It was Jemison's husky quarter- back, Don Price, who again in the 3rd period set up the off-tackle play that sent Glenn Marcus over for the second touchdown. JHS again muf- fled the try for the extra point. John Cannady and Robert Hilyer, playing right and left ends for Jemi- son clogged up all of Billingsley's at- tempts to gain on end runs. This has been Jemison's most vul- nerable spot. All their opponents seem to capitalize on this spot for their greatest gain in yardage. It was in this game that the 2 boys above decided to do something about it. Earl Ellison at right tackle, Johnny Ogburn at right half and Douglas Fortner at guard gave an exceptionally good account of them- selves in their respective positions. Jemison was playing without the services of their dependable little quarterback, Wayne Guin, who suf- fered a severe shoulder injury over
