AlThough There were obsTacles in our paTh, we meT and hurdled Them wiTh The guidance oT parenTs, Teachers, and advisors. We were TorTunaTe To have Mrs. Anderson and Mr. Mongan as deans. Their helpf Tul manner and lcindly aTTiTude gave us The righT sTarT in our school career aT JeTTerson. Our Treshman and sophomore years Tairly Tlew along. One oT our TirsT and mosT exciTing evenTs was The donlcey basl4eTball game. lT seemed ThaT The men ToughT more againsT The donlceys Than againsT Their opponenTs. When we were sophomores, some oT The sTudenTs parTicipaTed in Their TirsT aquacade. As iuniors we became more acTive in school aTTairs. Nancy Pera and Nancy lVlcCaTTery sang in ThaT year's marvelous band show. Playing Tor bo+h This evenT and The Spanish Club's Carioca Caper were TrumpeTer Earl Troche and bass player Earl lv1cCune. Following our lasT summer vacaTion we came baclc To school ready Tor work and bursTing wiTh energy. ln The lasT Tour and a halT monThs everyThing seemed To happen aT once. Crowding our schedule were senior picTures and announcemenTs, dances, plays, assemblies, and senior commiTTees. ln The senior as- sembly, Jim Albera acTed The Tough guy in The Born YesTerday slqiT, and Floyd Gonella played golf wiTh Don Lewis in The audiToriurn aisles. ln The play A Murder l-las Been Arranged, Basil Beeson was The vicTim and Lee Gorsuch swam in Paris in The Agua' Cade. We were especially proud oT Ray Schmilrlce, who was ediTor oT The 'l'oTem Pole in his lasT semesTer, and oT Gene Lorenzo, who was chosen by The sTudenT body as iTs presidenT. Comic relief in The Tense, nervous momenTs oT graduaTion was provided by Floyd Gonella's Tall Trom The olaTTorm during The assembly rehearsal. ln Their speeches aT graduaTion, ValedicTorian Lee Gorsuch.
