Mgr.: Coach llallg Mnssi, RE: Plyer, LH: Tromborq, RT, Wilson, RTg Evans, Mgr. Wm Foofball The i944 foofball season was a successful one af Jefferson High. Jeff won no championship nor did if emerge wifh many vicfories: neverfheless fhe sfafemenf made in The previous senfence sfill holds frue. Coach Hall began fhe season wifh a few re- furning veferans and a bunch of green boys eager fo learn fhe game of foofball. A lighf and inexperienced feam was shaped up and senf fo do baffle wifh Tamalpais, only fo suffer defeaf. This game proved +ha+ experience is a fremendous assef fo a foofball feam and confribufes largely fo ifs success. The following weeks wifnessed fhe lndians' defeaf by heavier and more experienced feams. Then followed a period of inacfivify as a resulf of Jeff's wifhdrawal from fhe P.A.L. This lull proved advan- fageous for fhe feam, however, as fhe boys gained experience and improved re- markably, and when fhe nexf game was played Jeff defeafed a powerful 'ream from Mounfain View, proving fhaf fhe boys had whaf if fakes fo make a winning fearn. The Mounfain View vicfory was followed by a friumph over our rivals, Soufh Cify, on Thanksgiving Day. Thus fhe season was broughf fo a close. lf Coach l'lall's plans for spring fraining develop, Jeff will once more enfer fhe league, and fhe lndians may anficipafe a good season 'nexl' aufumn. wr-sw:-11'-'.,. si-I ws: A ' s w gefemffsgg g ,..s2sm. .Q-is iffsfrg3g2151s7F5'k2mg ,, ,M Es, nel'-Qifizia.-21.1 kijims asggiggggigM-155335.ggSg2grgg2g:giggz,fz5v' 5' z was ifiiswffssssvisirars.- 2' Q- f ' If,fs??ilgLfi?115i5S:ffff9HPa-M3952'szxfirgzilessewsi'ez ' '- 1 'v'-3r'W:5A-sp -:vs '--'- if f -:ef:e?5?f9m5zaw's?zA:-',zaFMP' :Tin 4 . is en, W .W u3,A2.x?:2w.,.,,..s 551.5154-.s,i.s, i,,s..x .yur ' -swxawwxmsa ,m...,1sfim-V?-AW 'ff ir fi K e . . x- W bggseyzissssgfasgsgw ga sggs isgafsiisnsr , ,' 1 wwe- we .5 ,weve V sm- saw' . - gmvwili' , rv-swf?-L f , f fr.
