lt's been an honor and a privilege to be the principal of the best high school, said Mr. William Levering. who has been principal of Jefferson for the past eight years. Mr. Levering has come to earn the respect of the students during the years he has been principal. Mr. Dennis Blind, Mr. James Murray. and Mr. Ronald Campbell also hold high positions in the Jefferson administration. Mr. Blind, assistant principal, has the endless task of coordinating the school's Administration! The ead activities. Mr. Murray. also assistant principal, has the thankless lob of coordinating the school curriculum and the difficult position of director of Book Rental. Mr. Campbell. dean of students, has the unique power of punishing those students who have earned their just rewards. Counselors Guide Thru Year The Guidance Department, headed by Mr. Frank Lane, had a busy year counseling students on everything from school to personal problems. The counselors worked to place students in classes based on their ability and interests, as well as their post-graduate plans. They also advised students on college choices. as well as technical and vocational schools. Jeff's counselors were very pleased with the outcome of the College Fair held at Purdue University in October. Admission representatives were there from most colleges in lndiana to talk to students about admissions, programs and financial aid. Indiana Vocational Technical College was also represented to tell of its programs. The counselors encouraged all students and parents to attend this function.
