Advanced speech pupils learn the parliamentary procedure and begin a study of the basic techniques of acting. Language Studies Reveal Word Origins REPETITION is the technique being used in this Spanish class, instructed by Mr. McGlothlin. Many J eil pupils have availed themselves of the opportunity to learn a foreign language by enrolling in a French, German, Spanish, or Latin class. By becoming acquainted with the gram- matical constructions of a foreign language, pupils can increase their knowledge of their native tongue. In the modern language classes tape recorders, filmstrips, and dialogues have been used effec- tively. These aids have helped the pupils to learn the vocabulary and pronunciation of these languages. A study of Latin enables the pupil to recog- nize English words derived from Latin. The stu- dents taking Latin compare the Romans! daily life with ours.
