The Library supplements our learning Every year when research papers fall due. the library suddenly becomes an extremely busy place. Since the library offers such a well-equipped reference department, it proves to be very helpful when information is needed for research papers, terms papers, and themes. When study halls start to get too noisy, some students use the library as a place for studying when exam time rolls around. Many students also find the library very helpful in securing interesting material for stories and speeches. Many times every day the statement l don't read enough is heard. Although the library provides a place for getting information for written work, it also has a very up-to-date selection of fiction, including thrilling adven- ture stories, exciting mysteries, and gay ro- mances. Many of the top current magazines, both educational and entertaining, are also available for the students to use. Every day new books that will be of interest to Ieff students are selected and ordered. Assistant librarians, Peggy Richardson and Lrnoa Ford are kept busy by a line of eager readers 5 '

., . H ROMA .1 Q -406 Dean Lecklitner and Lynn Kramer put up a display for the Latin class concerning outstanding books, Mr. McGloth1in, Spanish teacher, presents the class with this Spanish question. Languages prepare our linguists Although the study of a foreign language should be taken seriously, there is also the excitement in learning the customs, habits, and origins of people in other lands. This year at Ieff the language department has been expanded to offer the students the chance of studying a challenging but exceed- ingly interesting language. This newly offered language is German. The language of the ancient Romans is also offered here at Ieff. Many people say that they feel a study of Latin is very foolish, since it is a dead language. These people don't realize that nearly every word in the English language is based on the scrcalled dead language. The study of the romantic language of Spain is also available to the students. This language is equally exciting as the trials of the toreadors of Spain were. Kenny Iustice looks on amused as Io Hardy X tapes a German lesson Page 24 W r
