from experience It is very possible that at some future date the many students in the industrial art courses here at Ieff will be printing your newspaper, wiring your home, or repairing your automobile. In the auto-mechanics and machine shop the students get first-hand experience by work- ing on their own cars or by working on ma- chines for which they have a special interest. Wood shop gives the future carpenters and cabinet makers vital instruction toward a suc- cessful venture in these fields and teaches them how to use the tools which are necessary for these trades. Electric shop shows the students just how electricity works and how it is used. The stu- dents of electric shop also are a great aid in the final production of the Red and Black Revue. These various courses offered here at Ieff often prove to be the basic factors behind many students' choice of career by presenting them with experience in many different fields. Ray Mitchell and Bill Mickler listen attentively as Mr. Price explains the circuit in a radio chassis. 'if' ll .sy N , .44. v J Bob Davis tries his hand at operating some of the shop equipment. Don Pruitt, Charles Brower, and Ron Rubindahl inspect the printing presses. . Pu ye 25:

., . H ROMA .1 Q -406 Dean Lecklitner and Lynn Kramer put up a display for the Latin class concerning outstanding books, Mr. McGloth1in, Spanish teacher, presents the class with this Spanish question. Languages prepare our linguists Although the study of a foreign language should be taken seriously, there is also the excitement in learning the customs, habits, and origins of people in other lands. This year at Ieff the language department has been expanded to offer the students the chance of studying a challenging but exceed- ingly interesting language. This newly offered language is German. The language of the ancient Romans is also offered here at Ieff. Many people say that they feel a study of Latin is very foolish, since it is a dead language. These people don't realize that nearly every word in the English language is based on the scrcalled dead language. The study of the romantic language of Spain is also available to the students. This language is equally exciting as the trials of the toreadors of Spain were. Kenny Iustice looks on amused as Io Hardy X tapes a German lesson Page 24 W r
