Jvivqi- A- - I ' These seniors enthusiastically participate in their office practice class. We are prepared to enter the Many jobs throughout our United States are filled by previous students in the field of busi- ness: and, for this reason, there is a bright outlook after graduation for these students. Typing, of which three semesters are offered, seems to be more or less a favorite of many of the Ieff students. Basic fundamentals are stressed in the first semester, while speed and accuracy are emphasized during the last two semesters. Bookkeeping is a course which is valuable not only to future businessmen but also is very worthwhile for the average person. A workable knowledge of assets, liabilities, and profit and loss can aid everyone in his everyday life. A study of shorthand is very necessary for those people who plan to do secretarial work, but it can also be of great value for the college student in taking those necessary notes in class. The old saying about experience being the best teacher seems to be the foundation of the office practice course. Here the commercial stu- dent does actual office work, putting to good use all his previous training. Business law, merchandising, and selling are the more advanced courses in this department. 'QL Prim' 22 Perfection comes Girls! Are you going to enter the largest and most important tree-time career for women- the career of being a wife and mother? lf so, you will be interested in the courses offered by the Home Economics Department. Any one or any combination oi these courses will be of significant assistance to you in the future. The way to a man's heart is through his stomach is an old saying that holds true in the world ot today. The way to his stomach is through the delectable dishes prepared in Foods I, II, and III. How to make all the latest fashions and save money doing it is the basis of the clothing classes. Four semesters of this class are available. Home Nursing, Family Living, and Home Management complete the list of Home Eco- nomics subjects. Home Nursing gives valuable training to all of us. Family Living and Home Management have to do with budgets, house- keeping, and numerous other things. Miss Grishaw stands by while a student teacher demon- strates the particulars oi home nursing using Sandra Orr as her victim.
