Secretary Russell Davis. 6dhmzL4,... Our tour must begin where the stem of all aetivity at xletl begins-with those who set the stage for our six wonderful years of high school education. Nvhen theylre not thinking up ways to improve our school life, they're busy keeping things going as they are. School board president, George Pfrommer, has ably served on the board for six years. This is the second year for Treasurer Harry Murphy and the first for Secretary Russell Davis. Attorney D. Preston Calvert advises the sehool in all legal matters. Co-ordinator llarold Aslxren sees that sullieient vocational training opportunities are offered. Keeping the sehool supplied with the necessary equipment is the job of Business Nflanager Harry Taylor. The work of these men is what makes students say, Jeff is tops! Kaufman, was pre- sented March 24 and 25 by the 1949 Senior Class under the capable direction of Mrs. Lelah Clark. After six weeks of preparation both Cz1StS effectively portrayed the life of the mad but happy Sycamores and the rich but unhappy Kirbys. You will remember the romance of young Tony Kirby and Alice Sycamore, Grandpa's talk with the income tax collector, Rheba, the colored maid, and her boy friend Donald, the Grand Duchess and her friend the Russian ballet teacher, Penny Syca- more, the playwright, and Gay, her actress friend, Essie and her balleting, Ed and his printing and xylo- phone playing, the painting of Mr. De Pinna as the discus thrower, and the three G-men who arrived just before the fireworks in the basement blew up. Then you will remember how Grandpa finally persuaded rich Mr. Kirby to relax and live because You Can't Take It With You! The play was hilariously funny and delightfully presented with its diiiicult roles and unusual properties problems.
