Saunders Senior Class The ultimate in high school memories having been grasped, the Senior Class of ,4Q looks back on its history from sophomore standing' through graduation. ln 1946, we came to Jefferson as individuals, un- certain of our new adventures. Our first year bridged us to a promising experience as juniors, and then we found our climax. Our senior year began with the senior class play, Our Hearts XVere Young and Gay. This delightful and hilarious comedy drew a tremendous audience which enjoyed it greatly. VVe proudly think of our seniors who helped to govern Roanoke for a day. Then there were those of us who assisted in the bond issue campaign. XVhile some gave speeches before clubs and on the radio, others made posters and assisted in various Ways. W'e really helped our community here. Another of our big events was the spring carnival sponsored by the student government, a preliminary to the Junior-Senior Prom and high school's final flourishes. +34 22 lif-
