CLASS PCEM As the curtain downward falls On this the final act, In memory we recall Many a happening and many a fact! The halls resounding with laughter,- The homework we forgot to do, The friends we could always count on To cheer ns when the world seemed blne The joys we shared to gethcr, The way we liked to ycll, The grinding, crammiu g exam daysg These things in our memory dwell. N 0 longer will we return to these halls, Come Sefvtemberis golden days. Now, each of ns goes ont alone, To prove that knowledge pays. What the world has in store for us? VVe have yet to find out. But bra-rely will we face our tasks W -ith neither a worry nor a doubt. The foundation is firm beneath us, And no rnatter where the road may lead We know that we can follow it With assurance and with speed. J As we, the actors, cross the stage Carrying diplomas in our hands, H ere's a toast to everyone of us --ls we scatter over this land.

Turning to the editorial page, we found interesting columns by Richard Abel and Harold Anthony. We found the editorial cartoon by Charles Aderholt amusing. We found a new comic strip drawn by Lloyd Daniel and Hobson Far- low. In the lovelorn column, run by Katherine McDuffie, who has replaced Mary Mason, there were letters from jesse Higginbotham, Gerald Moseley, and Donald Parks, seeking advice on their broken romances. We were plesantly surprised to see jack Briggs walking by. jack is now a successful business man, and we were interested in hearing about his great suc- cess. He oifered to take us to a football game so we gladly accepted, got a Snow taxicab, and rushed out to Legion Field where Alabama and Georgia Tech were playing. The coaches of Alabama and Georgia were none other than Bobby Phillips and W. A. Mitchell. 4 Beside us, three successful secretaries, Edith Honeycutt, Claudia Hosey, and Dorothy Klieber, were chatting with three members of the state legislature, Helen Kilgore, Betty jane Laster, and julia McIntosh. Don Bates, a wealthy lumberman, was there with his secretary, Doris McSpadden. Below us sat Sena- tor Brand. I was pleased to see the Governor, Wilburn Smith. He informed me that many of my old classmates were in his cabinet, among them are Maxine Thomas, Willadean Thornton, and Billie Smith. He has a liking for the oppo- site sex, it seems. The Lieutenant Govemor is Carrie Foote. After seeing Ala- bama beat Geo1'gia 14-7, 1 bid my companions farewell, caught a Beco bus fthat company is now run by Bobby Mahsffey and Delores Loganj, and stopped at the Holmes and Hoskins' Hotel for the night. The next morning, after breakfast at the Eastview restaurant, owned by Thomas Treadwell and Gene Umphrey, I went by Pruitt 81 Moreland's fliamoniaj Drive-it-urself establishment to rent a car. After seeing them, I went out into a new real estate project to see H. L. Walker, its owner. Maxine Adkins, Ioyce Atchley, and Anna Sue Brooks with their husbands have made their homes here. H. L. and I went around to see some of my old classmates. We ducked a rolling pin thrown by Mrs. Sewell QBobbie Simpsonb at jerry. We passed the former Jimmie Brown and Betty Burson walking with their children in a park. Alice fHollomanJ and Euel McKinney have a lovely home here. We stopped at the home of Mrs. Wright QShirley McDonaldj and found her entertaining her ladies club. The former Martha Io Camp, Elizabeth Carlisle, and Martha Hayden were among her guests. After bidding them farewell, I went to investigate a new company nearby, the Forrester Cjamesj atom energy cannery, which puts up atomic power in cans and pills for use in running cars, planes, ships, and for cooking. Bonnie Densmore and Betty Forrester are james' secretaries. Earnest Sandlin is in charge of the canned car fuel department. Montez Wilkinson is his efficient secretary. In the domestic department, which puts up atomic power for use in cooking, etc., are Colleen Killgore, Wilma McKenzie, jane Moats, and Francis Moore. Alcie Mae Ward handles the shipping department. ' Suddenly the building began to shake. It trembled worse and worse .... I awoke to find Miss jones shaking me as I had fallen asleep in her economics class. -RALPH Wn.1.s
