'mr' lst: 2nd: Our President is Barbara and Treasury FRESHIAN GIRLS CHORUS Phyllis Smith, Shirley Schey, lands Hollenbaugh, Carol lansdoffer, Pauline Huet, Loraine Shaftmaster, Adabelle Howes, Carol Berger. lr. Vermillion, Margaret Clark, Louise Gordon. Janice lurbech, Wanita Hollenbaugh, Jean Ropp, Nancy McNabb, Barbara Berger, Bonnie Chappel, Berger, Vice President Loraine Shaffmaster, Secretary is Nancy McNabb, and our Jeff-O-Gram reporter is Pauline Huet. Our Chorus has sang at the Senior Play and the Christmas Play. There will be four of our girls to go to South Whitley as representatives of our class. le have Hired Chorus a large mixed chorus this year with Hr. Vermillion as director. lb have chorus on Tuesdays and on Thursdays. le elected the following officers at the beginning of the year, Bill Mclhirter, President, Stanley Boggs, Secretary, Betty Hewes, Treasurer, and Dick McNabb, Librarian. At Christmas time we held a pot luck supper at the school house. After the pot luck we went caroling to different families in the community. A county chorus was organized and we presented a music festival at South Whitley on March ll to the public. This festival was directed by Varner Chance. F.F. . The Jefferson Center Ag. Club had it's beginning in April l9h7, at which time by-laws were adopted, meetings, dates, and dues were set and officers were elected. Meetings were held each month following and steps were taken toward organizing with the State F. F. A. Application was made and in September 'h7 notification was re- ceived of our acceptance into the Indiana F. F. A. On September 22, the Washington Center Chapter of the F. F. A. journed to Jefferson Center to install our officers officially as standard F. F. A. officers. On October 20, the Jefferson Center F. F. A. Chaptor held their first Parent-Son Banquet for all Vocational Ag. Boys. At this meeting Mr. Luther, the sponsor, pre- sented the Dekalb Agriculture Award to Eugene Vogely for being the outstanding senior in Vocational Agriculture in the class of l9h7. The Dekalb Agriculture Award Plac- que, with the school Other test, seed garage and the name Eugene Vogely 'LT inscribed, was also presented to Mr. Kent for by Mr. Luther. activities of the F. F. A. Chapter for the year of l9h7 were: a pest con- sales to Jefferson Center patrons, wiring of the Merritt Lefever's new construction of a meter pole at their home. This wiring is a follow up of the instruction given in Vocational Agriculture classes. Nine members attended the district banquet held at Garrett and two members were sent as delegates to the state convention at Lafayette.
