Special Recognition JACQUELINE JAASKELAINEN Miss Jacqueline Jaaskelainen attended Suomi Col- lege for two years and later graduated from the Uni- versity of Michigan in 1957 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education. She enrolled at Michigan State University in the fall of 1958 and received her Master 's Degree in special education in March of 1960. At the present time, Miss J aaskelainen is teaching a remedial class here at Jeffers, composed of students from all of Houghton County. ROBERT KOONTZ During our first semester of 1963-64, we missed one of our former faculty members, Mr. Koontz went to school to gain more hours toward his teaching cer- tificate. He resumed his position on our teaching staff at the beginning of our second semester. At the present time he is teaching geography, science and mathe- matics to our eighth grade students. Mr. Koontz obtained His Bachelors Degree from Central Michigan University. Previous to that he had attended the University of New Mexico. IN MEMORY OF HERBERT A. KELLOW The school and community lost a very good friend in the passing away of Mr. Herbert A. Kellow. Dur- ing the past forty-one years, he was a valued mem- ber of the Adams Township Board of Education. He gave unselfishly of his time and efforts to the promotion of education. His fine leadership, his wise counselling and his strong sense of duty made him an outstanding citizen of the community. 82
