Better the World With Cl Song Girls' Select Chorus For the second year a group of girls, whose voices blend, have been chosen for a special chorus. They have the ability to read music as well as to sing. Among the girls are five first sopranos, five second Sopranos, and five altos. They specialize in semi-classical and negro spirituals. Homecoming Highlights Winter Events CHOICE OF QUEEN Each class chose two candidates for Bas- 5 ketball Queen of 1963. Once the queen 5 was selected, the others became members of the Royal Court. Ste +0 QUEEN CROWNED On January 18, Bernice Nurmi, Home- coming Basketball Queen of 1962, crowned senior Maria Vezzetti as Queen of 1963. Lovely Julie Koontz carried a rose bouquet to Mr. Hampton, who in turn handed it to Bernice. After an appropriate tribute, she presented the bouquet to Queen Maria. ql .s- J' o The Homecoming game was a success from every standpoint: the queen was lovelyg the Jeffers High School marching band per- formed a snappy routine during halftimeg the twirl- ers did a dance step to a popular tuneg and the Jef- fers Jets handed the queen and her court one of the nicest presents they could have wished for - a victory over L'Anse.
