Niemi sells fuel for missiles, a rising business. Roger Maatta is advertising Wildroot hair cream on T. V. Jackie Sipola is now working for his Doctor's degree in ionospheric electronics at the University of Michigan. Julie Baima is captain of the Women's U. S. Olympic Soccer Team. Jeffrey Linna and Raymond Anttila are still trying to get their bucks. They are hunting all year round. Caroline Guili is touring the U. S. as a concert pianist. Mildred Niva, Maria Mustonen, and Margie Metsa are now earning Masters Degrees at Michigan Tech. Sharon DeForge owns a chain of European restaurants. Darlene Shiroda is now famous home economist. Elma Halinen and Diane Marier head departments at Ford Motor Company in Detroit. Dennis E. Niemi is star player for the Toivola Globe Trotters. David Sivonen is ski instructor at Mont Ripley. Vernon Perfetti insturcts dancing at a girls club in New York. Rhodetta Baakko has recently returned from an European trip with her ambassador husband. Still diplo- matic! Carole Kaiponen is the proud cookie maker for three beautiful children. Barbara Laitila and Maria Vezzetti model for La Pierre's in Paris. Class History In the fall of 1959, sixty-six eager Freshmen entered Jeffers High School. The class elected the following officers: President, Barbara Laitilag Vice-President, Evald Salmig Secretary, Carole Kai- poneng and Treasurer, Julie Baima. Mrs. Redeker and Mr. Erva were elected advisors. Money mak- ing projects started with the sale of candy at basketball games, the selling of name labels, with Lloyd Lantto as the highest salesmang and a few candy sales. The girls of the class won the soccer game in the intramurals held that year for the first time. Our Sophomore year began with the following executives: President, Maria Mustoneng Vice-Pres- ident, Rita Lindenfang Secretary, Carole Kaiponeng Treasurer, Julie Baima. With the aid of Mrs. Redeker and Mr. Erva, we initiated the Freshmen. Our projects were a Christmas Dance, the sale of light bulbs, bake sales, and a car wash. The girls of the class again won the soccer game in the in- tramurals. Our Junior year saw fifty of us eagerly awaiting the Dinner Dance with the theme SAYONARA. To further our funds, we sold magazine subscriptions, with Maria Vezzetti as our highest saleswoman, and had a few pie sales. Our class was led by President, Mildred Rautiog Vice-President, Maria Vez- zettig Secretary, Carole Kaiponeng Treasurer, Julie Baima. Mrs. Erva and Mr. Bosley were our advisors. At last we attained the ultimate goal. As seniors we elected these officers: President-, Maria Mustoneng Vice-President, Margaret Metsag Secretary, Carole Kaiponen, and Treasurer, Julie Baima. Mr. Davis and Mrs. Horton were our advisors. Our main projects were the sale of Christmas cardsg the annual with Margaret Stoneman, editorg and the smorgasboard .
