This year the james Wood Pee Wee's coached by Mr. Workman had a four game schedule with Randolph Macon Academy. Although the team did not enjoy a winning season, the training taught the team much. This experience will be of great value in their future years of football competition at james Wood. H

J. V. FOOTBALL Coach Harper and Coach Casey The junior Varsity football team posted an excellent record for the year of 1961. The Privates scored two or more goals every game to finish with an undefeated record. ROW THREE: Clyde Houston, Martin Dietz, Gary jenkins, Earl Rinker, john Nethers, Jimmy Orndoff. This year the basketball team gave james Wood something to be proud of. Their record for the regular season was 18-1. With the graduation of the top five from the previous yearg this year started with youth and inexperience, but in the words of Coach Casey, The most improved team I have ever coached. 184 For the 889 points scored by the opponents, james Wood scored 1284 points for a strong offensive effort. The underclassmen that participated in the varsity team this year gained valuable experience that will im- prove the chances of a successful 1962 -63 season.
