The Senior Band of james Wood seeks to develop the musical ability of the young musicians who constitute its membership. The band is open to students who possess some musical knowledge and provides an opportunity for them to improve their skill to a greater degree. ' The band participates in home football games, parades, University of Virginia Band day, All-state, and district festivals and pre- sents a spring concert each year. Stfmding: Mary Mauck. The Junior Band provides the basic background in music which the band student needs before being promoted to the Senior Band. Most students in Junior Band have had one year's ex- perience in music. The students in junior Band learn a working knowl- edge of music fundamentals.
