LATIN CLUB OFFICERS-FIRST ROW: Marvin Griffith, Preridentf Carol Mills, Secretary. SECOND ROW: Sue Marston, Vice-Preriderzt. THIRD ROW: Beverley Jenkins, Treasurer. The primary purpose of the Latin Club is to further the interest of its members in the life and customs of the early Roman people. This is accomplished by a ban- quet which is held in the spring. At this event the club members dress as the ancient Romans once did. The Selling of the Slaves is also held in the spring. At this time the first year Latin Club members are sold to the second year members as slaves. A Janus Ball was held in january, which was the money-making project, as well as the social event. Prkmirtr: Edward Shiley and Sue Marston The Choral Class this year is composed of 80 voices under the direction of Mrs. Colleen Cook. The choir, which is composed of tenth, eleventh, and twelfth grades, practices daily. Two highlights of the year are the Christmas and Spring Concerts presented by the choir. Of all the members in the choir, several were selected to attend All-State which was held in Alexandria, Virginia. The A Cappella Choir is composed of 50 persons who are selected from the mixed chorus. They also attend the All-State Choir Festival. The Girls' Glee Club, also directed by Mrs. Cook, has an enrollment of 110 persons. Eighth, ninth, and tenth grade girls practice daily as they work for the two highlights of the year: the Spring and Christmas Concerts.
