Charlotte Leight, Co-Editpr Barbara LeMaster, Ediror WOODBIN This past summer, the new members of the yearbook staff met at the school to begin work on the 1962 Wfoodbine. During the summer months the members were taught the fundamentals of layout and copy- writing. The staff members were instructed in the policies and rules of yearbook layout according to the Inter-Collegiate Press, Inc., the publisher of the yearbook. In October a workshop was sponsored by the publishers at the George Washington Hotel where six staff members attended this meeting to learn more about yearbook production. ON-THE-JOB TRAINING Vocational Office Training is the final phase of the business students program at James Wood. Both classroom and on-the-job training provide these senior students with skills and techniques that are so necessary for office employment. Filing, office procedures, and communication are some of the general materials studied while full-key, ten-key, rotary calculator, transcription, stencil and fluidhduplication, key driven calculator, typing prob- lems and payroll procedures are some of the techni- cal skills covered. Each year the VOT Class holds an Employer- Employee Banquet to show appreciation to all those Concerned for providing this type of training. TA FF Through the efforts of all staff members, a new high of over 800 books were sold during the year. With the help and guidance of our advisor Mr. James Biddle, the staff worked diligently to produce a yearbook that will be remem- bered and enjoyed for many years to come. The school yearbook publications have received high honors from different rating serv- ices in the last few years and the staff hopes to continue offering high quality yearbooks to the stu- dent body.
