BETA BEAUTY CONTEST Sandra Russell, Miss James Wood of 1962, was crowned by Barbara Komsa, Miss james Vfood of 1961. This dazzling array of beauty and dress confronted the audience at the Annual Beta Club Beauty and Dress Contest. Carolyn Godlove presided as hostess at the Beta Club Banquet which was held in the James Wood cafeteria.

KEY SWEET SHELVA MILLER The Kiwanis Key Club at James Wood is a junior civic organization de- voted to service in the school and com- munity. One of the chief aims is to promote a good character in each of the twenty-four members. This year's club has done an amazing job in spreading good will for the club, community, and james Wood High School. The activities of this year's club in- cluded presenting a flag pole to the school, holding a light bulb sale, giving S50 to the school library, giving 3150 to the school bleacher fund, and donating alfanm W A wr -fl il I 5: A B 5 . 1 . . if if V, V 6 L5 Q .- . .1 'f- H 5 Q - F 93' ' Llz . ., :-'SE ,.., i , I 'L 'I ' - Q . '.' gm ' - - ' f 2 v ,,-. , Q i I Overseeing the erection of the Hag pole which they donated to the school are some of the Key Club mmbers. This Hag pole was placed on the football Held. a framed reproduction of the Declaration of Independence, the Constitution, and the Bill of Rights to the library. All of the members assisted the com- munity in the Polio, Crippled Children, and Heart Fund Drives. They donated a speaker stand, electric clock, and a beau- tiful green plant to the War Memorial Building. Billboard road signs were also erected by them on Safety and Church activities. The club also visited local churches and took an active part in the church services. The people who attended the Thanksgiving Dance held at the War Memorial Building by the Key Club had a wonderful time. CLUB HEART
