SCA CHRISTMAS PARTY The Invaders from Shenandoah College were a great success at the SCA Christmas Party. LL: Ax -'S' ? 4 .w In 'ff 2,11-.., ,...f 1.1. P93195 agar -...Q Brenda Ramsburg displays one of the artistic posters used to advertise the SCA Christmas Party. On December 15, 1961, the SCA Christmas Party and Dance was held in the gymnasium. Pro- viding the music were the Invaders, a dance band from the Shenandoah College and Conservatory of Music. During the dance a recording was made of the Invaders' music which was presented over WINC. The refreshments at the Christmas Party prove to be a big hit with the students attending the dance and party.

BETA CLUB , ,- - f ,ND OFFICERS-SEATED: Carolyn God- love, Preridentg Marvin Griffith, Vice- Pferideni. ROW TWO: Barbara Campbell, Secretary, Larry Parkinson, Reporterj Sandy Boyce, Trearurer. As a member of the Beta Club and as a citizen of my community, state and nation I believe in and shall strive to promote the principles of honesty, justice, service, cooperation, responsibility, industriouness, humil- ity, and charity. It is for these purposes that the Beta Club was formed and now operates. The members of this club must exhibit these quali- ties before they are invited to join, and must maintain a B average throughout their junior and senior years in order to remain members. SPONSORS: Mr. Gord- . on, Mrs. Hovermale. Six This year the Beta Club held its annual Beauty and Dress Contest in which there were 61 contestants. The Beta Club attended the national Convention at Roanoke, Virginia, March 16 and 17. There many of the members attended the various meetings while the officers met with their special groups. While in Roanoke, the club stayed at the Hotel Roanoke and saw some of the historical sights of the city. On the way home from Roanoke they visited the tomb of Robert E. Lee on the campus of XVashington and Lee University. FIRST ROW: Carolyn Godlove, Judy Ailes, Barbara Campbell, Sandy Boyce, Sandy Boyles, Carol Luttrell, Mitzi McClanahan. THIRD ROW: Carol Bennett, Kathy Woolf, Sherry Ensogna, Margaret Poole, Patsy Whetzel, Wanda Braithewaite, Carol Ballenger. FOURTH ROW: Pat Knight, Patricia Lee, Priscilla Lee, Kay Coffelt, Shirley Brown, Darlene Jenkins, Sharon Cather, Sandy Russell. FIFTH ROW: Louis Eye, Ragland Ballowe, Barbara Robinson. SIXTH ROW: Larry Parkinson, Bobby Leight, Jimmy Hockman, Marvin Griffith, Bill Trenum.
