OUR WORK Madison College Mr. john Dale Hodson University of Richmond Degree- B.A. The Social Studies course at james Wood High School consists of many units of instruction. Various methods of instruction are used to make the classes interesringg among them being the lecture, class discussion, question and answer, research papers, and debates. Mrs. Shirley L. Place - Degree- B.A, in Education Mr. Eugene D. Funkhouser Shepherd, Graduate Work University of Virginia Degree--A.B. Newspapers, magazines, films, film strips, slides and maps are some of the supplementary materials used in the classroom. The primary purpose of the Social Studies course is to develop better citizenship and to increase the SELI- dents knowledge of history, government, and geography. Mr. Smallridge points out the Districts of Voters in Virginia.
