HIGHLIGHTS OF HGMECOMING Each year the Pep Club in co-operation with the Physical Education Department, Work together to put on a Home- coming which will long be remembered by the players and the students. This year, the Queen and her princesses, who reigned over the night's activities. were chosen by the football boys and everyone agreed wholeheartedly on their choice. Mayor C 1 a u de Smalts crowns our Queen, Carol Day, while the others look on admiringly. Danny Stotler pesents Carol with a football, autographed by all members of the team. Chuck Triplett, as Colonel james Wootl, gallops up the field when our team scores another touchdown. Mayor Smalts can't seem to take his eyes off our lovely Queen. 217

Debating, poetry, prose reading, public speak- ing, and spelling all go together to form our annual Forensic teams. The students for each event are chosen on the basis of speech enunciation and pronunciation, voice, tone and quality, and ability to read smoothly and accurately. PROSE . POETRY SPELLING . DEBATE . Miss Davidson listens attenrively to Faye Adams preparing her poetry reading. Mrs. Hovermale instructs Ruth Headley, district prose winner, on correct pronunciation.
