The purpose of the Future Homemakers of America Chapter is to encourage students to take part in home- making activities in their parental homes and to help prepare them for establishing their own homes in the future. The Future Homemakers of America Chapter has held regular monthly meetings and members have presented skits pertaining to the goals of the Chapter. Guest speakers have given interesting and enjoyable talks on a variety of subjects. One of the informative addresses was given by Mayor Claude Smalts of Win- chester who spoke on Civil Defense. 176 Mrs. Mary Humphries, Co-Sponmr: Miss Kath erine Watson, Co-Spomorg Mrs. Ruth Sutphrn Spomor. The Chapter conducted the annual rose sale and cup- cake sale. The proceeds from these activities went to the National Foundation Polio Drive. During F.H.A. Week, which is the first week in April, the Chapter gave a tea for the faculty. Sponsoring the Daughters of the Stars Federation meeting was a highlight activity of the year. The chapter held the Mother and Daughter Ban- quent that brought the mothers and daughters into a closer relationship.
