The Student Co-operative Association, since it includes every student at James Wood, is chiefly a service organization, and strives for better cooperation between stu- dents and faculty. This past year the SCA successfully planned and carried out several worthwhile projects: the used-book store, the three get-acquainted parties, and the football concession stand. A new constitution was written and adopted, and under- took a big problem: to raise enough money to build a new concession stand and erect a section of concrete bleachers. With the help of all the students, these projects were completed. The outstanding event of the SCA year was the assembly in February with the eminent Civil War historian and author of the Major Mosby Tales, Mr. Virgil Car- rington Jones, as the speaker. 136

ACTIVITIE Our years at James Wood have taught us many things. We have grown socially, emotionally, mentally and spiritually. This growth has come not only from the teacher's textbooks and reading, it has come from learning to get along with one another and learning to work to- gether. Through out clubs we have ac- complished these goals and we hope to become better prepared to get along happily in our life. 135
