At the beginning of the year james Wood had two bands besides the Concert Band. These were the beginning band comprising those students who had not had musical training before and a junior band-those students which had had some musical training. Both bands meet five times weekly for class instruction and each member is scheduled for one private lesson per week. The picture above is of the two bands at the beginning of the year. A A CAPPELLA First Row: Erma Fox, Fay Denson, Mary Jo Rogers, Jo Ann Dellinger, Ann O'Leary. Second Row: Louwanna Grubb, Joan Whitacre, Patsy Willimns, Karen Armstrong, Nancy Davis, Peggy Franklin: Third Row: Jake Harold, Jack Shiley, Charles Bauserman, Billy Grim, Billy Orndorff, Billy Staples. Fourth Row: Donald Whimcre, Jack Colvin, Thomas Hepler. This is the first year for the A Cappella Choir under the able direction of Mr. Sadler. The choir developed from the Choral Club and is composed of a group of boys and girls whose voices blend well together. To be in the choir, a person must have auditioned and have met the qualifications of the director. The choir participated in school and outside activities through the year. Members attended the All-State Chorus and were well received there. The main activities of the chorus were the Christmas Concert, and the Annual Spring Concert. 'I24 ng.:-1.
