The Team posTed an 8-l season record, scoring 206 poinTs and holding The op- ponenTs To 92 poinTs. Four ComeT5 were named To The All-League Team, and one landed a berTh on The All-CenTral CoasT selecTions. AlThough The squad will be hiT by graduaTion, The CTualiTy and quanTiTy oT holdovers indicaTe anoTher fine season nexT year, The Frosh-Soph TooTball squad losT iTs bid Tor a championship in The Tinal game oT The season To grab a runner-up spoT, Four Frosh-Sophs were named To The All-Ml-TAL Team. The perennially sTrong varsiTy waTer polo Team placed Third wiTh a 9-3 season log, and The Frosh-Soph poloisTs swepT The league wiTh an unbeaTen record. The power-packed Frosh-Sophs will bolsTer an already sTrong varsiTy squad Tor nexT year's campaign. Cross CounTry men Took second place in The Ml-TAL and have a sTrong nucleus around which To build. Fine prospecT5 move up Trom The lower divisions. WresTlers placed Third in league compeTiTion, and The reTurn OT Two-year MHAL l9l-lb. champion and NCS Division ll champion gives The ComeTs undispuTed superioriTy in ThaT weighT class. ComeT baskeTballers, defending MHAL co-champions, were hard pressed To reTain Their laur- els. WiThouT a reTurning regular on The squad, They managed To salvage The season wiTh a TiTTh place Tie. The powerTul ComeT swim Team deTeaTed iTs sTrongesT rival in The TirsT meeT of The season and was well on iTs way Toward anoTher swim championship. ComeT Teams This year compeTed in The MT. l-lamilTon AThleTic League comprised oT eighT schools. Ml-IAL member schools included San Jose, Lincoln, Willow Glen, Pioneer, Ayer, Hill, OverTelT, and Lick. NexT year, MT. PleasanT and PiedmonT l-lills will be added To The League. Two years ago, Lick was nosed ouT by Ayer in The race Tor The Russell All-SporTs Trophy by The margin oT a TenTh of a poinT. LasT year Lincoln nipped The ComeTs by an even smaller margin. Bridesmaids Twice by a microscopic TracTion oT a poinT, The CorneTs hope To nab The coveTed award This year.

The victory PAUL ALLIGUIE, ERNIE LANGONE, Quarterback Haltback 1964 MHAL The T964 varsity football season can be considered a year ot tulltillment tor the Comets. Living up to all pre-season ratings, Lick captured the MHAL crown on the last clay ot the season by defeating Pioneer I9-I3. After beating Gilroy and Los Gatos in non-league games, the varsity proceeded to deteat a tough Willow Glen team by a 20-I3 count.
