This organization renders an invaluable service to the school by making posters for all special events including dances. contests, and drives. They also decorate the lunchroom and corridors for holidays. A course in advanced art consists mainly of in- struction in figure drawing, water colors, rempera colors, plaster modeling, layout advertising, still life and landscape painting, and poster work. Teachers have found that they can always call upon the Advanced Art Club to assist them in spec- ial projects by making stage props and helping in any way they can. The representatives are elected by members of their divisions or organizations with the approval of the division teacher or sponsor. At the meetings, the Student Board discusses the various problems of the school such as Lunch Room conditions in relationship to students, cleanli- ness throughout the building and the surrounding grounds, and anything else that comes to the atten- tion of the board and must be accomplished by the students themselves. The Student Board also takes care of all collections conducted throughout the year. Among them are the Thanksgiving Fund, Memorial Day Flower Fund, the March of Dimes, Easter Seals and the Red Cross. These collections are carried out through the division representatives. Mr. Eli Goldberg was the faculty sponsor of the Student Board during the fall semester of 1950, and Miss Barlow is at present the sponsor of this organization.
