Little did we realize on that day, that within ri few months our country would be plunged into a war that would greatly affect our future. As freshies we immediately tried to get into the Bowen spirit by joining clubs which were open to freshmen, attending the football games, and senior plays. By getting ' h into t e swing of things we hoped that we wouldn't appear so green. But I guess we didn't conceal our greenness for as we walked down the corridor looking for our classes we could hear Huh! Look at the freshies. As sophomores and juniors we realized the importance of education to a warring nation and seriously though of what the future held in store for us. We were seniors then and between acting dignified and keeping our heads out of the clouds we were kept quite busy. 'We did find time, however, for the serious things and some of us received Tau Pi Alpha Keys, Bowen Letters, and a few of us were inducted into the National Honor Society. After senior election our minds turned to thoughts of that wonderful night to come-Our Prom. Wie had a super time that night at the Knickerbocker Hotel in the Rainbow Room. Senior Class Day and Senior Award Assembly flew by and then the long awaited night-Graduation' We were V saddened graduation night by the conspicuous absence of many of the fellows from s class who-left to fight side by side with former Bowenites in the service of opt country.
