Whether sloshing through steaming Asian jungles, breaking a snow trail on European mountains, or patrolling icy enemy seas, the men of the Armed Forces stand apart from most men. Yet, they are the same, sharing the same home and families and dreams and joys of other men. What makes these servicemen unique? Is it the selfless bravery in the face of black and terrible death? Is it a nobility that characterizes these modern-day knights in flak vests and helmets? Is it an abrupt manhood forced upon them on a dark and ominous night 'Z it 3. N, 'Y ' Q ia, twt pp 'Q . d! what they learn what it is to splatter some i fellpw human's guts on a tree or over the ground? Could it be the encompassing lone- liness coming of cold, hunger, despair, and the feeling that no one really cares? There are those who care. Just how much they are concerned could never be put into insignificant, puny words.
