Now is the time of lingering departure — we pause for one glance backward before setting forth on the journey called life. In these pages we look back with tears mingled with laughter for that which has been and which is to be — then turn to meet the world — laid open like a book at our feet — with open arms — hooray and hallelujah. We are on our way. We do not say goodbye, instead we say hello to life. Jacksonville isn't a huge metropolis, but what else can start a conversation next year except, Where is Jacksonville? I've never heard of it.”
