The American Field Service is motivated by eagerness- eagerness to meet people, eagerness to know, eagerness to understand. Through this eagerness, A.F.S. sends students like Harold Geuther to foreign countries and brings .students like Peter Jilcke and Israel Temesgen to the United States. Harold spent two summer months in Sweden, living with the Professor Ragnar Romanus family in the city of Gothenburg and on the island of Uorn. Peter came from Stockholm, Sweden, and lived with the George Zeigler family and then with the Robert Bradney family. Israel, who stayed at the home ofthe Rev. Richard Shewmakerfamily, came from Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. We asked Peter and Israel to give us some of their ideas about the United States and their native countries. Of course, these are the opinions of Peter and Israel about Jacksonville and not necessarily the opinions of Sweden and Ethiopia about the United States. We also asked Harold to g1've us some of his impressions of Sweden and Swedes.
