Our assistant principal is Mr. Wilson. This is his second year at Jackson High School. Besides being assistant principal, he teaches seventh-eighth grade history. Mr. Wilson has attended Rio Grande, Wilmington, and Marshall Colleges. He has received his B.S. in elementary education, a B.S. in secondary education, and an M.A. in School Administration. CAROL JEAN JOHNSON RUTH ANN WASHABAUGH ANNA NAIL Carol Jean is Mr. Thornton's Secretary, Office Receptionist, and one of the busiest people in the whole Jack-son High School. This is Ruth Ann’s first full-time job. She works for both Mr. Thornton and Mr. Daugherty. Anna takes care of all reports and records for the entire school system. She is also Secretary to Mr. Daugherty. 5

 Mr. Thornton is not only our principal, but also a friend to every student. Although he holds the reins tightly he is ever willing and ready to give help or advice to his students. Our welfare is his center of interest and activity. Mr. Thornton was a teacher of history and government in this school before he became our principal. During the past thirteen years that he has been principal many boys and girls have been inspired to better living by the high ideals which Mr. Thornton has always stressed. He is recognized by all for the wonderful job he has done during the past four years in which our school has been over crowded. The long hours of effort he has given to solving problems presented by the crowded conditions will always be appreciated by the students, for his foremost thought was always for us and how we could profit by some act of his. We, the students of Jackson High School, will always remember Mr. Thornton for the kindness and help he gave us and because of these our memories of him will be cherished 4
