1953---an average semember day; yet special---my first day at school. SO many things happened my first six years, but there are those that deserve remembering: the endless hours spent on the playground jumping rope, sliding, swinging, shooting marbles, and cultivating friendships that have lasted throughout the years. My first class party---everybody came dressed as hobos. Confusion was the key word dur- ing my first year in high school. Growing up brought new problems to everyone. The girls had to learn to walk in tight skirts, put on lipstick, and make quick changes into the familiar black and white of P.E. The boys now had the frightening respon- sibility of asking the girls to record hops. Each Junior high year had iLs recurring events---science projects, new teachers , little league football, and writing lines , lines, and more lines! Before I knew it, I was in Senior High school, and graduation day was no longer unrealistic. Our class was beginning to be noticed for its artistic, as well as, scholastic abilities.

All our time and effort was devoted to making money. First, to win the Halloween queen contest, then to recreate April in Paris. I'll never forget the authentic French cafe, the Arc de Triumph, or the sidee walk artists. The ordering of class rings brought us within a few short months of becoming Seniors. My first day as a Senior of 1965 began on the front row in chapel. Many happy days have passed since then, each leaving with me a treasure. November 13 , the day we beat Grove Hill, towers above all the rest. We had our own Mardi Gras Ball, complete with serpentine, costumes , King and Queen. A full day out for Mardi Gras , class parties, New Year's Eve, and just plain fun have made my Senior year complete . Time is now 1965---an average Spring day; yet special---my last day at school .
