AIYUKPA I95O S e ri io rs HISTORY YOU,RE ON YOUR WAY NOW As we find ourselves at another step of our education, we are wondering what comes next, but we can never forget the past A those first expectant days of school. As we turn our thoughts back, we find that of the graduating class of 1950, only seven started their education together in the first grade: Coralie, Mary Ann, Mimi, Bonnie, Patsy, Jerry and Duane. As we continued upward through the grades, Bill and Lee joined the procession, and when we found ourselves graduating from grade school, our class was enlarged by the entrance of Bob Turner, Alvin Anderson, Barbara Hackley and Gordon Irvine. It was truly a green group of Freshmen that first set foot in 'Y gh School on September 10 1946. We smuggled through the fi ,L hectic wee' of seliefv' ay such x .ls as Hupperclass- men, initiation, .ueklist. After fhe first semester, however, we had finally adapted ourrelves to thi' new kind of life and finished the year without any further inciden. ln some we managed to get through the Sophomore Tea ano wo endi other year of school. Vifhen our Junior year rolled around, we were greeted by a new student, Chauncey Mankin. During that year we finally got to enjoy an initiation. That year seemed to be full of activities, Prom, Banquet, and many others, all at our expense. When the following year came before us, we found that we were mighty Seniors, an achievement that some of us had doubtfully looked for. XVith the aid of Mr. Lcpponen, our sponsor, we have completed the year with many happy memories left behind us, and many more experiences ahead of us. VVe wish to thank all of those good people who have made our grade and high school years the happie t of our short live 4. PAGE 6
